With sustainability playing such a vast role in the construction sector, Clews & Co Construction has recently taken delivery of the UK’s first state of the art Trenching Rock Wheel, with the ability to cut a perfect uniform trench in any ground conditions.
The Rock Wheel comes into its own when laying power cables, fibre or ground source heating pipework, all in one pass. By having the ability to half back fill the trench as we go means that reduced material is produced, allowing for a neater and quicker back fill process.

As material is cut with the tungsten carbonate teeth, it gets finely ground down and in most cases suitable to bed any services. This saves huge expense of importing bedding material to site and exporting spoil off site. Subject to ground conditions, we can achieve up to 3-5m of trenching and cable laying per minute!
